Just back from a month trip to Madagascar with Arnaud Petit, Stéphanie Bodet et Sylvain Millet,
this is a few pictures to give a first impression of the trip , the film soon !
Invite by Arnaud et Stéphanie, the trip’s goal was to film our trys to free climb the 10 piches of
the crazy « Tough Enough ». It can be the hardest free climbing big wall in the world !
400 meters of vertical granit in the middle of the Karambony’s face, in the magic
Tsaranoro valley.
We were really close to the full realization, free climbing 9 piches on 10 in a month effort.
The challenge to free climb the all route in a same assault by a climbers team, looks now
possible.
This is our grades estimation:
L1 7b+, L2 8a, L3 8b/b+, L4 7c, L5 8a+/b, L6 8a+, L7 8b+/c,
L8 8c (because of a new pich we opened), L9 8c/c+, L10 8c.
A nice hard slaby climbing style...
Arnaud, « team’s leader » made the experience speaks, making fast the first ascents
of the L7 « Frigo » 8b+/c and L10 « Hercule » 8c (picture).
He was very close to do something perfect falling three moves before the ending jug
on « Geko » 8c/c+ , 55m!
The video of the fights will be soon available on this site.
